Unlike traditional 2048 games where tiles slide across an entire grid in one direction, 2248 Merge Puzzle allows you to connect tiles by drawing continuous lines through adjacent matching numbers. In this number-matching game, your main goal is to link long chains of identical or doubling tiles to create increasingly higher numbers (e.g., 1024 → 2048 → 4096 → 8192), achieve massive combo scores, and prevent the grid from running out of moves.

DETAILED GAMEPLAY MECHANICS

The mechanism of 2248 Merge Puzzle is more interesting than the traditional 2048 version due to the free-chaining rule:

Chain Linking Rules:

You start a connection by clicking on any tile and dragging your finger or cursor through adjacent matching tiles.
You can move in eight directions: vertically (up/down), horizontally (left/right), or diagonally.
After linking two or more identical numbers (e.g., 2 → 2), you can continue the same chain into doubling values (e.g., 2 → 2 → 4 → 8 → 16).

Tile Merging: Once you release your drag, all connected tiles vanish, and they merge into a single higher-tier tile at the ending position of your line.
Gravity & Board Refill: When a chain is cleared, remaining tiles drop down to fill the empty spaces, and brand-new tiles spawn from the top of the grid.

The game continues endlessly until the grid fills up and no adjacent matching or double-value tiles can be linked.
