HOW TO PLAY THE 5X5 VERSION

2048 5x5 gives you nine more cells than the classic 4x4 layout. This extra space allows you to arrange tiles more freely. When two tiles with the same value touch, they merge into one tile with double the value. After each turn, two new tiles appear, so you need to manage the larger board carefully as it fills. A move that looks useful at first can create problems if the new tiles block important combinations. Before moving, you need to consider where your existing tiles will end up and how much space will remain afterward.

Simple Controls, Deeper Challenge

The controls remain easy to understand. Arrow keys move the tiles on desktop, while swipe gestures work on mobile devices. The familiar controls let you focus on arranging numbers and planning your next combination rather than learning complicated mechanics.
